Portland Trip Photos: Ryan's Intro to Ruby Web Frameworks

Even though I'm no software developer, Ryan's talk was easy to follow, witty, and smart. The slides looked great, were funny, were clean and simple and to the point. He also gets extra points for playing Journey while people were coming in. I'm not just saying this because he's my husband, but I felt he did an incredible job, and I was very impressed. Especially since he felt like he wasn't prepared for this talk. Can't wait for the next one.

Portland Trip Photos: The city at dusk.

Taken from our balcony right before dark. It was quite chilly out there. Without the tripod, I wouldn't have been able to take these because I was a little shaky.
Used a cool setting on this one. It only highlights one color. Click to enlarge.
Cool night. Cool city.

Our balcony is somewhere in there.

Portland Trip Photos: Dinner Lastnight

Dinner at the hotel's southwestern/mexican restaurant. It was okay... :)

Portland Trip Photos: Pizza Schmizza

We ate at this yummy pizza place for lunch yesterday.

Portland Trip: Really cool things.

Our hotel room is on the 11th floor of this hotel, so we can see quite a lot from the window, but the coolest thing about being so high up is that when we take the glass elevator up to our room we can see Mount St. Helens in the distance. It's beautiful. I'll try to get a picture.

after this was taken, someone walking by told us this would be a keeper.

My lunch: a savory chicken crepe with spinach, mushrooms and a cheese sauce.

Ryan bought a handmade clay Zelda whistle called an ocarina.

My new crafting blog.

I've started a new, separate blog for arts, crafts and vintage finds. It will be a place to inform those interested of what I'm working on. I will also post great handmade finds and maybe some tutorials in the future. Hop on over to see my latest projects.

I guess I'm an outlaw, and other new things.

Sarah from SpaceDog Studios, and I are going to our second craft fair. It's in downtown Columbus at BoMA on August 16th. We're also leaving for our trip to Portland on the 19th for a week, so I'm a little freaked out about the time I'll have to prepare, but it should be ok. heh. :) It's exciting to have been selected for the fair.

In other news, I will be selling my stuff in a children's "ecotique" in Anchorage, Alaska called Sugar and Spice. I'll be sending over my items in time for the store's grand opening. I made the retail tags for the store, and now I'm selling things in the store!

I'll be selling cards for birthdays, showers, and blank cards, probably some mini albums, and these handmade books for children that I make. Photos of these things to follow. It seems like a lot has been happening, and it kind of has. Not that I don't love it, I do! I'm just looking forward to Portland!
