Why Sunday was a great day.

Well, first off, there's something magical about waking up to 4 inches of snow on the ground while it's still snowing. Everything coated in the purest white powder. It's almost disorienting to look at. And even to look out the window a few minutes after you just looked is like a new experience. So, we got to walk Daisy in the snow, walk around in it ourselves, throw snowballs, make a snow angel, and it all makes you feel like a kid again. I was so looking forward to it, that I never really fell asleep that night waiting for it to start falling. I got up almost every hour until it started somewhere between 3 and 4am. I stayed awake until Ryan woke up at around 7:30am. He was planning to go wait in line for a Wii at Best Buy, leading to the next great thing that happened on Sunday.

Ryan waited in line in the snow for a Wii, rumors were going around that Best Buy would probably have 15 of them Sunday morning. So, he went an hour before the store opened, and luckily they had 28 or so. He got there and they handed him the 21st voucher and 45 minutes later, he went in and got the Wii. It was the second cool white thing that we received that day.

Another thing that made Sunday great was driving around seeing everything blanketed with snow. The snow plows had taken care of the roads, so they weren't a problem. We went out and had lunch at Wendy's, went to Target, then went home to play with the Wii. When we got hungry again we went back out to try to go to a Mexican restaurant, but they happened to be closed most likely due to snow. So we started to go back toward home to see if we could find anything else. And we decided on Famous Dave's. It was almost completely empty when we went in, and a few minutes later we were alone in the restaurant. Our server was very nice and generous. We ended up leaving with more food than we ordered because they were "just going to throw it out". So we had a great dinner.

Our Wednesday morning wasn't so bad either. It was the first time this winter that it has snowed on top of a previous snow. So our snow from Sunday, as it was starting to disappear, got a fresh coat of 1 inch of snow this morning.

Aside from enjoying snow, I've been reading, and have finished 2 books in 2 days. The Silver Chair and The Last Battle from the Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis. I'm now on The Magician's Nephew. The last one of the books that I need to read. It was actually the last one of them he wrote, but was meant to be read first, though a lot of people read it last. Anyway, hopefully I'll finish it today.

Our pictures are up, so take a look at our Winter Wonderland.

Farewell for now.

deluge (I just really like how that word sounds.)

It's been a while since my last blog posting. Not a lot is new around here. We had a good Christmas and New Year. I can't believe it's already halfway through January. This year is just going to fly by. I can already tell. Probably faster than 2006 did.

I've been trying to read more lately. I'm currently reading "Voyage of the Dawn Treader", one of the books from C.S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia. They're all very good books. I believe I have three more to read after this one. There are so many books I want to read so I'm trying to get through these first.

This weekend Ryan and I watched Little Miss Sunshine and Invincible. They were both pretty good movies. Our third anniversary just passed. It's amazing that three years have already gone by. It really reminds me how important it is to stop and take in every day. Time just goes by so fast.

We are still without snow. But rain, we have plenty of that. In fact, if you want some, please feel free to come by and get some. We have flood warnings right now. We're alright though, we're on a big hill, and on the 3rd floor. They keep changing the snow forecast from snow to rain. We'll see if we actually get "flurries" tomorrow.

Goodbye for now.
