it's just a jump to the left

...and then a step to the right! With your hands on your hips you bring your knees in tight!

Whoa. Where did that come from? I'm blogging today to explain some things that are going on with me and thankfully it has nothing to do with the Rocky Horror Picture Show. As of 5:00pm tomorrow I will no longer be employed with 3z.net in Covington, KY. It was a short run, I know. I tried that glove on for size, hoping it'd fit, but alas. It only helped to reveal my true love for programming and has awakened that passion once again. I just hope that this time I can do it well. So, I as result, I will be picking up a couple of contract jobs here and there. I'm also going to try drumming up some freelance web design and web application development again, so if you know anybody in the market for a web site design or some interactive content or web-based database type things...you know the spiel. Hopefully in the next day or so, that should be reflected on our main page at http://brionesandco.com/.

Another effect of my leaving is that I will be getting a new cell phone and number. I know it's a pain, but it has to be done. This SHOULD be done Saturday sometime at which time I will update everybody I have an email address or phone number for. Until then, if you need me, you can email me or call Stephanie's NEW phone.

Other than that, the only other news I can think of is that my car is paid off! Woo hoo! It's been a long time coming. Anyway, thanks to all who have prayed or wished the best for us. Continue on, please! But know that we are appreciative. If you want any further details on what's going on, send me an email! My email address is my first name, then a dot, then my last name @brionesandco.com. Once I get my phone up and going, I may just give you a ring!

a bastardization of George Washington’s farewell address

Ever since I saw this comic posted on one of the many other websites I follow daily, I've been reading the xkcd comic via RSS, "a webcomic of romance, sarcasm, math and language." It fits right into my niche of geekiness although I have to admit I can't keep up with most of the math references. Anyway, I happened to visit the site because of today's rather hilarious comic and it reminded me that xkcd had a blog, or blag as he puts. I don't know what I was *expecting* to see, but I was plesantly surprised by this entry that includes xkcd's "translation" of George Washington's farewall address. I only got about halfway though the translation when I knew it was golden. The comments are a pretty interesting read too. I hope to read the rest later, but I felt I needed to spread the love now.
